National recognition for affordable housing development
After taking home top honours at the state level last year, Believe Housing Australia’s Mansfield Park housing development has now won the National Affordable Housing award at the Urban Development Institute of Australia Awards for Excellence.
Described by the panel of judges as setting “a new standard of excellence for affordable homes in South Australia and nationally”, the accolade celebrated the award-winning development’s contribution to providing safe and affordable housing in the community.
The 37 purpose-built two and three-bedroom rental homes on Wilson Street, which include six Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) units, are managed by Tier 1, not-for-profit community housing provider Believe Housing Australia.
AnglicareSA Chief Executive Officer Grant Reubenicht said he was extremely appreciative and proud of the AnglicareSA development team’s hard work managing the project from initiation to completion.
“It is an important project that has now received the national recognition it deserves,” Grant said.
Believe Housing Australia Executive General Manager, Stacey Northover, said winning the national award was a testament to the organisation’s unwavering commitment to deliver high-quality, affordable housing that makes a difference.
“The Mansfield Park development showcases what is possible when we combine innovation, strong partnerships, and a deep focus on tenant wellbeing,” Stacey said.
“This recognition reinforces the vital role that affordable housing plays in building thriving communities, and we are proud to be leading the way.”
The Mansfield Park development won Project of the Year and the Affordable Housing Award at the state UDIA SA Awards for Excellence last year.
